Show Helpers 2018

The show could not exist without assistance given to us by the Show Helpers who give up a bit of their time before the Show, during the Show, or after the Show.

It goes without saying that the Committee are fully dedicated to make sure the Show goes ahead as smoothly as possible and all help in their own way, but as a way of showing our appreciation here is a list of the Show Helpers for 2018:-

Collect Tombola prizes

If you live in the village you will be aware that there is a troop of helpers that go door to door collecting tomboys prizes in a wheel barrow.

  • Georgia Whitelock
  • Harley Paxford
  • Jacob Evans
  • Simon Holley

Setup on Thursday

Thursday, late afternoon, we get together to setup all the tables in the exhibition and craft tent, start setting up some of the side shows, and erect the small marquee.

  • Adrian Thomas
  • James Spackman
  • James Timberlake
  • Beth + 1

Showday

Of course, the Show Day requires a lot of help in various areas:

Entry Gate
  • Michele and Mark Carter
  • Maureen and Stefan Pudas
  • Vicki and Graham Robertshaw
  • Beverley and Philip Louis
Raffle
  • James Spackman
Tombola
  • Debbie Larder
  • Lucy Paxford
Duck Derby
  • Clive Vare
  • Simon Holley

Sunday take-down

Although a lot of work takes place after the show to do a bit of tidying up, Sunday morning is reserved for folding up the tables and returning them to storage, litter picking and basically returning the site back trio the condition we would expect to find it.

  • Adrian Thomas
  • James Timberlake

Judges (Stewards)

One of the main parts of the Show could not happen without the Judges:

  • Vegetables & cut flowers – Brian Davis (Karen Dignan & Caroline McDonagh)
  • Cookery judges – Pat Wickham & Rob Davies (Chris Newman & Jenny Lacon)
  • Floral arrangements – Rachel Mills (Pete Mills)
  • Children’s division – Ally Burridge (Cathy Jones)
  • Crafts – Ursula Waechter (David Hard)
  • Photography – Ange Boott (Wendy Wood)
  • Best Dressed Ducks – Evie & Jack Arlott (Carl Isaac)

So now know you know how much effort the Committee and Helpers put into making the Show work every year.
